The Science Behind Your Skin's Renewal

LED light therapy has been studied in clinical settings for over 50 years. Renuveil delivers the same therapeutic wavelengths used by dermatologists — at home, in 10 minutes a night.

Why topical skincare alone will never be enough.

Collagen, elastin, and the fibroblasts that produce them all live in the dermis — the layer beneath the epidermis. No serum, cream, or retinol can reach that far. They work on the surface. LED light therapy works beyond it, delivering targeted photons directly to the cells responsible for your skin's structure and renewal. That's not marketing. That's physics.

The Evidence

What the published research shows.

These numbers are from peer-reviewed clinical studies on red, near-infrared, and blue light therapy — not claims about this specific device.

630nm · Red Light

+31%

Increase in intradermal collagen density over 12 weeks of red and near-infrared light treatment.

Wunsch & Matuschka, Photomed Laser Surg, 2014;32(2):93–100

850nm · Near-Infrared

4mm

Depth of light penetration into biological tissue at near-infrared wavelengths, reaching the subcutaneous layer.

Ash et al., Lasers Med Sci, 2017;32(8):1909–1918

460nm · Blue Light

77%

Of patients showed clinical improvement in acne after 5 weeks of blue light therapy sessions.

Kawada et al., J Dermatol Sci, 2002;30(2):129–135

'nm' stands for nanometer — the unit used to measure wavelengths of light. Different wavelengths penetrate your skin to different depths, each targeting specific concerns.

  • Red Light — 630nm

The most clinically studied wavelength for anti-aging. 630nm light penetrates the skin's surface to boost cellular energy production (ATP), accelerating natural repair. The result: reduced fine lines, improved skin tone, and a visible reduction in dark spots with consistent use.

  • Near-Infrared — 850nm

Invisible to the eye but powerful beneath the surface. 850nm near-infrared light penetrates deeper than red light to stimulate collagen synthesis and fibroblast activity — the cellular processes responsible for skin firmness and elasticity. This is the wavelength that works at the structural level.

  • Blue Light — 460nm

460nm blue light targets and destroys acne-causing bacteria (P. acnes) on the skin's surface. It works by activating porphyrins within the bacteria cells, creating a reaction that eliminates them without harsh chemicals or UV exposure — leaving skin clearer and calmer over time.

The Three Wavelengths

How light reaches the skin.

A brief explanation of what each wavelength does — drawn from forty years of dermatological research.

Depth of Penetration · Skin Cross-Section

460nm 630nm 850nm
Epidermis 0 – 0.1mm
Dermis 0.1 – 4mm
Hypodermis 4mm+
Surface only Mid-dermal Subcutaneous

What Each One Does

630nm · Red

The most-studied wavelength in the category. Used in dermatology since the 1990s for collagen support and tissue repair.

850nm · Near-infrared

Penetrates deeper than visible light. Reaches subcutaneous tissue. Studied for circulation, recovery, and mitochondrial activity.

460nm · Blue

Acts at the surface. Used clinically for breakout management and skin tone refinement at the epidermal layer.

Choose your session length — 5, 10, or 15 minutes (10 min recommended). The mask auto-shuts off when complete. Adjust intensity between 50%, 75%, and 100% power to match your skin's needs.

  • Mode 1 — Anti-Aging

    630nm + 850nm

Red and near-infrared light work together to reduce fine lines, boost collagen, and improve overall skin firmness. This is the daily treatment mode for visible anti-aging results.

  • Mode 2 — Clear Skin

    460nm + 850nm

Blue light eliminates acne-causing bacteria while near-infrared promotes deep repair and reduces inflammation. Ideal for breakout-prone skin or active acne treatment.

  • Mode 3 — Full Treatment

    630nm + 850nm + 460nm

All three wavelengths activate simultaneously for a comprehensive treatment — targeting aging, firmness, and clarity in a single session.
